Surgery.co.cr is a website dedicated to provide free information about surgeries, surgeons and other medical procedures mainly in Costa Rica.

Why Costa Rica? well, for starters the editors and owners of this website are natives of this beautiful and prosper country, thus we know everything there is to know about this subject in our region.

To give you a general idea of why we consider our country as a very good option for surgeries and any other type of medical procedures, it is fair to give you a rather broad panorama of the medical history in our country. Universidad de Costa Rica is one of our most respected institutions, the State University with the most experience in medicine in Central America and a well respected institution worldwide. It is widely known for the human and proffesional quality of the doctor's it has developed thoughout the years. Founded in 1940 and starting the practice in 1953, the School of Medicine of Universidad de Costa Rica graduated the first generation of costarican doctors in 1965 establishing a path of excellence and dedication for all new generations of doctors and surgeons in the country.

On the broader view of the socio-economical factor of the country we need to mention that we have no army, we are a democratic country, we have a rather solid economy and we have a well-established free health care system for all of our citizens.
